      hey guys . need a little advice . pulled the pistons out of the 3hp and forgot which way they go back . also , cylinder clean up . what grit would be best on a hone ? thanks

        Long side of slope goes to exhaust. I think 40 grit is good. Just a caution not to overdo the honing. Do the minimal to achieve the crosshatch.

          I’d suggest a 240 grit flex hone for the cylinder hone job.

              Yeah, 40 is probably too coarse. I think I used some worn out 40 crocus cloth by hand the last time I did it, and it worked ok as I did it  with a light touch.

              Are you planning on lapping the block and cylinder cover too?
