1937 Evinrude Fisherman. This feature is “famous” and “patented,” but I don’t know what it is? You can let go and light up, and something helps keep your course. Is it just friction on the swivel?

I believe that was one of Irggie Irgens patents that Steve Briggs got when he bought Lockwood, I couldn’t find it in my list of “firsts”. . . [/color]

I like that ad David. Not sure where it’s located on that motor but this was the location for that adjustment for many years shown in this ’62 Evinrude 10 HP manual.

Great clip, Steve. You’ll be able to “run for hours without tiring!”

With a tiller motor, you want the co-pilot tightened just enough to hold the motor in place when you let go of the tiller but with remote steering, you want it loosened right up so the motor is free to flop around.

                  Good point, Mumbles.
