Evinrude model 7514 tiller install

Trying to reinstall the tiller handle on my 1954 Evinrude 7.5hp, model 7514.  Is there some trick or procedure for this?

There doesn’t seem to be enough space between the throttle/spark advance rod gear teeth and the tiller mount on the engine assembly, to slide the tiller handle into its correct position.  Don’t want to force it and break something. TIA!

Answered my own question, should have searched at-Mike’s videos before posting this. But will leave it in case another member might need it
