I have an early 1900s Evinrude (see attached photo) that I would like to restore for decorative purposes only. What would be the costs of something like this and can you suggest a restorer?

    Thanks

IMHO, that one is too nice to restore. It will only be original “once”!
A careful cleaning is all I would do, but it’s your outboard. 🙂

1920’s Model A. I agree it’s much too nice to restore. Clean the grease and lightly polish the brass. You will be pleasantly surprised how nice it will look. I have some restored rowboat motors. They don’t look as nice as original motors like yours.

For cleaning grease I like fume free (blue) Easy Off oven cleaner. Do not use it on the decals. WD40 is as aggressive as I would go on the decals.

Old T-Shirt for a rag and Brasso for the brass. Medium grit car compound for the rest……………. dampen the rag with H20.
