IMHO, that one is too nice to restore. It will only be original “once”!
A careful cleaning is all I would do, but it’s your outboard. 🙂Prepare to be boarded!

October 15, 2020 at 5:32 pm #2186461920’s Model A. I agree it’s much too nice to restore. Clean the grease and lightly polish the brass. You will be pleasantly surprised how nice it will look. I have some restored rowboat motors. They don’t look as nice as original motors like yours.
For cleaning grease I like fume free (blue) Easy Off oven cleaner. Do not use it on the decals. WD40 is as aggressive as I would go on the decals.

October 18, 2020 at 12:24 pm #218832Old T-Shirt for a rag and Brasso for the brass. Medium grit car compound for the rest……………. dampen the rag with H20.
