Finally found Grandfather’s Evinrude

Today I put the magneto back together. I used all OMC/BRP parts. New plug wires, coils, points, condensers. I set the points with my buzz box and OMC timing fixture from Frank Robb. Used Frank’s coil locating tool also! Carb and magneto are synched per the “Red Book”, now just waiting for the new impeller to put it’s foot back on!

Compression check with my 50 year old Craftsman gauge show 105 psi on each cylinder. I can live with that!

Glad to hear that cuz the flywheel will probably rub on those primary leads connected to the points!

Dollarstores have  big racks of  inexpensive fingernail polish in all colors  …  one likely very close to your engine’s  blue

a dab in the right places (scratches) will make that  gem you found  almost perfect !!!
