How do I separate the carburetor from the gas tank on a flambeau 5 hp model 174050. I’ve seen the exploded diagram, but it’s not intuitive.

You need to remove the cover over the needle valves, then remove them. Remove the primer/fuel shut off, and it will come apart.

I may have forgotten something as my motor and manuals are in storage.

As seen at 2016 Suter Meet…a Flambeau with all its secrets revealed.

Maybe I’ll work on my Flambeau next…… that cut-away gives me inspiration!

It’s “stuck”, and I’ve squirted penetrating oil in the cylinders a couple of times
over the last couple of years. I don’t even know if it’s the pistons stuck or
lower unit, drive shaft, etc., but it looks like, assuming one can get the bolts
out holding the halves together, getting “whatever” unstuck shouldn’t be too
            bad.

            Prepare to be boarded!
