Guys, I’ve been all over the internet trying to find the gear ratio for a 1996 Mercury 40hp ELO 2 stroke ? Can anyone tell me exactly what it is, There are all kinds of charts for the newer 4 stroke motors but not the older 2 strokes ? Thanks

My 1996 Mercury outboard sales catalog lists the 40 h.p. motor as having a 2.00:1 gear ratio.
