      This is what came on the old Homelite I’m working on. It’s locked up–the sleeve can’t be retracted as it hits the vertices of the hex, and it won’t go forward even with the snap ring loose.

      Pics I’ve seen look like an "industrial" style air hose connector, which I believe Champion also used for remote tanks:

      Flow through the assembly seems pretty restricted. I’m not seeing a way to get it apart without cutting the sleeve off.

      Suggestions?

        Same as Chrysler fuel connectors. I am sure if I am wrong, I will be flogged.

          Slightly file vertices until they clear sleeve.

            I thought of that but why should it be necessary? The sleeve doesn’t seem distorted. I wonder if a combination of incompatible parts was put together with a hammer?
