Remove the screw from the bottom of the float chamber. Find a pencil with a nice flat top soft eraser that will fit inside the hole against the bottom of the float needle to hold the float needle steady. Now using a needle nose plier, grasp the center area of the clip and rotate the clip while lifting it up and holding the float needle steady with the pencil eraser to keep the float needle shaft from rotating along with the clip. I have done it this way many times and it works.
