Thanks for the reply I just rebuilt the carburetor on a 1957 35 hp motor and now that it is back on the engine the throttle butterfly does not the seem the open that much . That is why I am wondering if I need to synchronize the motor. Not really sure have much the butterfly opens at full throttle Thanks so much
Is the gear shift in forward gear when checking throttle opening? Those ’57 35hp motors have an econocruise mode. They can be confusing to setup correctly. When the throttle is moved to full bore timing it is also at full advance. When throttle is pulled back to say 3/4 open the timing stays at full advance. It is supposed to help with gas mileage. Hope this helps.
