      A friend just gave me a old Elgin and it is in great condition paint is great and so are decals. I have no idea what year or horse power, the model
      # 571-58561 it is 2 cly. and has a shift lever just below power head. Any help would be grearful.

        Looks like you got a 1951 to 1952 5hp Elgin with a neutral shift. Great little motor!
