Johnson 200/210?

I have an opportunity to go and see this motor (it’s for sale). The ad states that it runs.

It looks to me like a Johnson 200/210 (mid-30s, 3.3HP). Correct?

It seems to be complete, with the only blemishes being someone got ‘red paint happy’ with the flywheel and the rope sheave and the tiller handle has been ‘enhanced’ with what looks like an aluminum bar.

Anyone see any other flaws? Is there anything specific I should look out for with these motors? I’ve already got a Johnson 300 so I am somewhat familiar with the era.

It doesn’t appear to have the piston water pump (like the 300), any idea what kind is used?

with that cast aluminium muffler, it is a model 210 , 1937 , 3,3 hp
it has no waterpump !

Judging from the muffler, it’s a 210 for sure. The 200 model had a stamped muffler. Both are easy to get running, and great running motors. BTW, that one has the ”pressure vacume cooling system” that uses the prop to push water up through the powerhead.

Then repainted in bout 1957 with current Johnson color and decals so it would look like a band new motor! How special is that.
