I purchased a electric starter and mounting bracket with the hopes it will fit a 25Hp Johnson 25RL76. The only identifying numbers I can find are as follows. STARTER MOTOR AUTO-LITE MDW-4002M 12V N11
MOUNTING BRACKET CASTING # 305084 The starting motor is 3′ dia. and 5.5 " long The bracket is painted johnson light green. I do not have the engine available to see if it would fit.

CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT ENGINE THIS STARTER FITS ? Or is there a cross reference available ?

      Thanks for any help.

google hits for "omc 305084" showed me 50’s/60’s era 35/40hp models.

The eletric start parts diagram for your engine can be found at:

Agreed, that bracket is for the Big Twin/RD series motors. Won’t fit your 25hp. The starter motor might fit with the correct bracket, I don’t know for sure. I’d have to do some serious research on that.

Thanks Frank. Picture looks very close to what I have. Will try to get hold of engine this week and see how it fits

                Thanks
