Interesting. Never had heard the story about selective filtration of the oil. I think what we really should be looking for is selective retention of water in the filter, and many paper elements do this fairly well.
Question: In rigging my V4, a much larger outboard than I’ve dealt with previously, it really feels as if it ought to have a water-separating filter mounted on the transom or bulkhead. Do people do this with larger outboards and, if so, what do they use?
