Two more motors followed me home today. One is a QD-24 M.

      I know that’s 1963 10 HP, but what does the “M” mean?

IF—-IF there were any mid-year changes, the letter identifies which version you have. IF—-there were no mid-year changes, it means nothing.

Thanks Frank! The only change I’ve seen on it so far is a Trump bumper sticker stuck to the top of it that includes a word I’m sure the forum doesn’t want me to put in print here! (LOL)

As Frank says, the suffix is usually the manufacturing run # — but M seems rather many to me.

Is there anything about the gearcase that looks odd ?

“M” is actually pretty typical for a model suffix regardless of the model. I’ve seen it on RD models too.

Mid-year change suffixes didn’t follow alphabetical order like hurricanes do. 🤣

Everything looks normal, including the gearcase.
