check the compression, it needs to be 75lbs minimum to idle down.

It seems that each motor is different. I used to think that 75 PSI compression was required for a T model to idle well. That was until I got this one that runs and idles well at 67 PSI cold/dry compression.

Interesting. I’ll have to report back with the compression readings and my observations once I have this TD running in a tank.

My son and I were winterizing the last few motors we ran this summer as there is talk of a blizzard coming our way! …………………. In any event, one of these was our TN-27 that Kevin paid $10 for at a meet two years ago. This crazy motor started on the second pull! Only 35 degrees out. I told him, if these things were rare, everyone would rave about them and they would be a must have motor. Sweet quiet motor. Not too much power, but it is what it is. A wonderful trolling motor also. I also fired up my 63 Mercury 110 that started on the third pull, so that was not bad either. Also one of Mercury’s best motors, (the 9.8-7.5-6hp motor family. )
