    I recently acquired a 1 cylinder 4 cycle outboard. I am looking for a maintenance manual and rear lower over. Can anyone help me out?

    Warren, I have a pdf file for the Lauson S350 / 351 but it’s too
    large to upload here.
    If you PM me your email I could try to send it via “We Transfer” online.

    I think he may have the earlier 410 model. That’s a 2.5hp motor and is different from the later S 300 line of motors. Is the lower cover cast aluminum or stamped?

    It is a single cylinder Lauson, SN: 70B7480 no other markings. May be less than 4 HP.

    Thanks. You are right That looks like it. Probably a model 410, 2.5 HP with a rope start motor. The rear back cover is missing, can I operate it without fear of it overheating?

    No.
    You can maybe barrel run it for a little while;
    Without the cover in place it will overheat.

    I am the Lauson  person listed in the Antique Outboader Magazine and I have all parts and repair manuals for

    every model of Lauson. I have close to thirty of these Lausons and many parts motors. I have the cowl,

    and you need the cowl for correct air cooling.

    Send me your email and I will get you the Manual or call me @ 541 948 0866
