            Great info!! Thanks a lot according to the MW ad I believe I was right 2-1/2 HP I guess I could weigh it according to the ad and if it’s 29 lbs we are spot on

              You will have to remove the front cover but there is a small brass welch plug on the front of the motor with ID numbers on it. It’s either on the crankcase or on one of the cylinders. These numbers will correspond to an Evinrude model listing.
