Somebody please correct me if I am wrong
I’m thinking since the prop shaft is threaded- it a 1956 and under
I’m thinking since it takes a long bolt in the rear-its a 1955 and above
      So its a 1955 or 1956
I’m also thinking that inside it has a short pinion gear
I believe 1957 was the first year of the longer pinion gear
      Just my opinion

I don’t have any pre- 1957 parts diagrams to compare the differences.
That being said, is there any problems using a 1955 – 56 gear case
      on a 1957 Big Twin?

      Prepare to be boarded!

Cool, glad I was wrong about the fastwin thing, don’t know where I got that idea…
I’m pretty sure the gearcase assembly will bolt up to the later models, just some of the innards are different….
