        Hey Kent,

It has been awhile, where are you at with this project?

Quick update on the 1952 10 hp johnson QD-13, I  have gotten my carburetor parts and leaf plate gaskets in to continue with this project. Details to come. I got side tracked on this project.
I have been working  on a coworkers 1956 7.5 Evinrude, he had it hanging in his Man Cave, I volunteered to get it running and give it complete tune up. It had a blown head gasket. No compression on bottom cylinder. It is up and running now. I will be installing the new updated water pump  tomorrow and this job will be completed.

            All,

I have good news on my 1952 10 hp Johnson QD-13.

            She is FINALLY RUNNING!!!
I sure do appreciate every one’s advice. It was fuel problem whole time. I cleaned the Reed Plate and replaced both gaskets with new ones. After changing lower unit oil. She fired up on the third pull. I was shocked that she was pumping water. See attached photos.
Thanks for everyone’s troubleshooting tips, Kent

Great news…  feed it lots of oil  and it should last years and years .  Some folks  change gear oil mid season if water seeps in…

GC oil is cheap  and a rebuld takes practice.

                thanks for your feedback

Sounds great! I like the stand too with the little stock tank.

                      Prepare to be boarded!

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
