      Hi, I picked up a Mercury 7.5HP 1969 (serial number 2635xxx). One coil has infinite resistance from plug boot contact to ground. I am wondering if I may use coil module for Tecumseh small engine 30560A (Replaces Phelon Part #: FG-6240). There are plenty of them available. Physically they look very similar.

        The price seems reasonable enough to experiment with. The HT lead looks to be coming out the wrong side. I may try this with a Champion motor i have.
