      Thanks for all the input on this. Bill I may take you up on the O-rings if I can’t locate a couple.

      Chris, I remember seeing a post where someone got one apart with some heat.

        I was looking at my own picture and was wondering if a small hook tool couldn’t be inserted through the nipple hole, to pull back the spring and lock it out of the way……Maybe then, with some patience, you could work in a couple of new o-rings, without the ball being constantly fighting you….That floating metal ring between the two o-rings would still be a bit of a pain, though. Again, on the TANK fitting, the ball can be locked out of the way, easily and o-rings can be changed. I’ve done it. So why not the hose end?

        Yeah, 20Mercman, it’s not a matter of being cheap to me; it’s the challenge. As president Kennedy said, "We choose to do these and other things, not because they are easy; but because they are hard." If I really needed a new fitting I’d pay $50 for it.
