Mercury ke3 gas tank filter

Gas filter is gummed up and will not slide out of the tank. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks,

Use a solvent, lacquer thinner or some such solvent… it will break down the gunk, might take a minute

When you get it off, use a small inline filter instead.

I had one that swell up for some reason. I had it out when I first got the motor – no problem. Had to get it out in pieces. Made a screen filter to replace it. Johns suggestion is so much easier.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
