Trying to get this pressure tank fixed up to use with my 1953 Merc Mark 15.
Installed a new diaphragm, but the primer didn’t want to work good enough
until I made a new discharge check disc valve. It still wouldn’t keep the motor
running, as I think the tank isn’t building up pressure.

I suspect the pressure relief valve and / or the gas cap seal.
The graphics on the tank are still “decent”,
so, I’d like to use the tank. anyone ever mount an OMC head on the Merc tank?
Six of the eight bolt holes line up, but the last two on the end are about 1/16″ off.
If a person made up a new “backer plate” to go inside of the tank, to match
up with the OMC head, I think it would be a “go”.

You could put a Merc decal on an OMC tank.

I think that would be cheating worse than putting an OMC
head on the Merc tank, lol.

The countersunk holes in the “head” body would have to be elongated,
and that might be prone to leak, and not look too good.

Otherwise, the aluminum, threaded backing plate inside the tank would
need it’s two holes welded up, re-drilled, and tapped.

I have the Wizard version of this same tank….Needed new hose, of the unobtainium style. Until someone mentioned a fellah at Tomahawk had some of the right stuff…pricey but I have good hose again. It is for my Wizard Super 10.

I just used the new OMC dual line hose that I had.
I just changed out some of the fittings to fit that hose.
