Hello! I’m in a hurry to locate a Mercury water impeller for a 1950’s 55E. Trying to find the part # to use at an O’Reilly Automotive or such place, due to the fact I need it this weekend. The O’Reilly catalog doesn’t allow me to look it up by the model (Mercucry 55E), instead it only gives me part numbers i.e. 18-8900 for example so I’m not sure what fits a 55E. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks for the info! I’m finding conflicting info on the net regarding what part # fits a Mercury Mark 55. Mine is a 55 S with electric start, serial # 1146942 maroon in color and I THINK it’s a 1956.
One site calls for a 47-89984, one says 47-21893 and another says 47-89983. I can’t confirm which one is actually correct and I for sure can’t seem to cross reference those numbers over to the newer 18 prefix Sierra part numbers. I was thinking 18-3007 is the correct fit but not sure. I was hoping to order one before I tore it apart but that’s not looking to promising at this point.

Several numbers will work. 47-20268 was superseded to 47-65959, which was superseded to 47-89983, which superseded to 47-89983T. The Sierra part number is 18-3007. Same impeller was used for many years on 35, 40, 45, 50, 60 and 70 hp Mercs up into the early 1990s, maybe even later.
