needle valve packing: Can anyone confirm this part number?

35HP ’57 Javelin……having the darnedest time confirming the part number for the needle valve cork packing washers.

I believe it’s OMC# 307583; Sierra# 18-7106-9

Can anyone confirm or correct me?

I’d say both of those numbers are good numbers for the fiber sealing washers.

Either one will appear to be a different material then the original because they are. The originals contained asbestos.

Plastic washers were not used in ’57, but are a later improvement, so wise to use them anyway. Part number 306027

I would use the BRP ones. I’ve tried the Sierra version, and their junk, unless they’ve changed them recently. The down side is they aren’t cheap.
