I like the idea of putting the hole punch in the drill press.
Will have to try that soon!

      Prepare to be boarded!

        quote gbm:

I make the holes with either hole punches or brass shell casings but I don’t punch them. I like to spin the tools with my drill press and basically drill the holes out with a piece of hardwood as a backing plate. This makes for a real clean job. .

        Excellent idea! Thanks for sharing.

The way I use a RotoZip is for cutting out sign letters out of high density urethane (HDU) foam.

use a 2" thickness of styrofoam for the support base and a "downward spiral" bit in the RotoZip.
the downward force of the bit will help hold the thin material down that you are cutting.
I have seen many fine examples of carved pumpkins (Jack-O-Lanterns) using a RotoZip.
quick, neat and clean with a downward spiral bit.
with the correct bit, you can cut ceramic tile, leather, wood, plastics, sheet metal, and the list goes on.
a very versatile tool once you get the hang of it.

RotoZip bits are available for many applications…… also in upward and downward spirals.

          .
