      What oil ratio should i use for a Johnson 50 8hp am thinking 16:1 should be fine any thoughts?

        It says here 3/4 pint of oil to a gallon of gas. That’s more like 12:1.

          If I’m not mistaken, the early K’s and A’s had an aluminum center main bearing, thus the reason for the heavy oil. My experience with those engines, at least the early ones, is that they easily freeze and are difficult to un-stick because of the common block and not being able to use the grease gun trick without potentially causing damage to a rod..

            ok will go a little heavier the crazy thing usually fires on the first pull no idea how long it set but is running great going to lake webster meet sat will test it out.

              I RUN 8-1 ON MY K’S AND THE PLUGS RUN CLEAN. MAYBE I AM TOO CONSERVATIVE BUT IT WORKS FOR ME. GOOD LUCK, THEY ARE GREAT RUNNING MOTORS.
