I have a P35 LU that needs bushing and I have a spare LU that came with a P40 with good bushings.
I noticed they share the same factory props. Is the gear ratio the same for both?
The P35 LU is on the right in the picture.

I have a common parts list that shows the same gears in both, so ratio would be the same.

Thanks David. I thought they were the same.

The Johnson Brothers were the first to use what we know today as a Trim Tab. It mounts below the anti ventilation plate, toward the rear of the gearcase,(cavitation plate) and is held in place by two screws. You can make one out of aluminum. I’ll have to take a pic of mine sometime. If I remember correctly, it was called a ”stabilizer fin”.
Your lower unit has the cast in mounting bracket with two holes in it where the fin is mounted.

Thanks Jerry. I had heard of the trim tab but have never seen one just a leftover piece of broken aluminum. I’ll fab one up once I know what one looks like.
