Is there a kit for the thermostat replacement? Do you just replace the thermostat and gasket? ’61 Evinrude Lark III, 40HP, 35525
Where do you guys find the kit numbers anyways? I can never find actual kits, just individual parts.
Here’s a link to OMC kits on Marine Engine:

Just the thermostat and cover gasket. Unless some genius removed and tossed the black housing and check valve.
Don’t forget the rubber thermostat seal also, yours is probably worn/damaged…

You are so right Frank, no rubber gasket around the thermostat. The gasket is under the plastic check valve cup….D
