Pre War Evinrude Original Finish?

      On the under 1hp thru 4hp pre-war Evinrude’s of Aluminum construction was any of it painted? Were the castings polished at all or left natural? I have seen what looks to be unrestored motors that have faint silver paint on certain parts and wonder if this is original or a 75 year old fix up. If a motor has a mix of aluminum and cast iron parts were some parts painted and others not? Thanks!
