6 gallon OMC pressure tank, measures 9 inches from top of tank to bottom of tank, internally.

Pickup tube measures 8 inches from gasket on the housing to the bottom of the pickup? I am reading that this pickup should be right on the bottom, or just a fuzz above… What gives?

I never check one like that.  I know the four gallon has a curve in it.  Maybe someone cut some off or the worker couldn’t read a ruler!   The way the ferrule at the top is installed could make a half inch difference.   I will have to look over my spare parts and check this issue out.

I puled the top off of a second 6 gallon tank, also 8 inches…. that leaves an inch of fuel in the tank, but I am having way more than that when she acts like she is dry..Onward, both pickups are straight….so why not 8 1/2 inches?
