My 10 hp is looking good so far. Waterpump was good and lower unit had nothing but oil in it. 85# of compression and good spark. The recoil rooe is the old cable one with the rope covering wore off and wondering what a good replacement size and length would be? Also what is the recommend spark plug? Thanks, Jim

That motor should use a 7/32″ rope (also labeled as #7 size). And I think Crosbyman meant a Champion J6J spark plug, now changed to J6C.

Thanks for the info. Be a few weeks before I can try it out but I hope to have it ready by ice out.

Ended up with number 6 as that was all they had on hand but seems to be fine.
