"Tempo" plastic gas tank

      Does anyone know if it is possible to remove the gas level indicator from a "Tempo" plastic single hose Ultra – 6 gas tank? A black plastic tube about a 1/2" in dia. and about 71/2" long has come loose in the tank and I would like to examine the gas level indicator to see if it attaches to it somehow. From my observation, the level indicator doesn’t appear to be detachable.
