Has anyone one come up with a MacGyver type solution to replacing the grommet (rubber) that goes around the control panel (face plate). Call me cheap but -I know Ny Marine sells replacement but I really don’t want to pay that much. I was thinking about using the clear rubber that goes on the louver from a glass block window. But I’m thinking the space on the clear rubber would be too wide.

have you tried slicing a thin walled…. rubber hose lenghtwise and wrapping it around the face place

black Goop will hold it in place when dry

I have used automotive vaccume hose. Split the hose half way though. Glue it on with some trim cement. Long ago in my biking days, we called that cement “gorilla snot”! A block of wood with a slot cut in it, the size of the hose you buy, will hold the hose while you cut it half way through.
