    Hi All.
I have to make an exhaust manifold and two power head to trunk gaskets and was wondering if it is ok to laminate to sections of .5 mil gasket material ( the thickness of the original gasket was 1mil.) If that idea is ok, should I put any sealer between the laminations and would shellak be ok .

    Thanks for any help

These gaskets are available NOS. But, perhaps finding them overseas is difficult.

Hi fleetwin. Unfortunately we are still in lockdown with Covid, so I thought I might be able to speed up the restoration.

    Thanks for your reply.

As long as the sealing surfaces are clean and flat, I don’t see why a 1mm (1/16″) gasket wouldn’t work. A light coating of Perfect Seal would help.
