I picked up a low profile, Fishing Scott by McCullough. The model number has been worn off. It does seem to have a four digit serial number that was stamped. I am trying to determine the correct model number, because a plastic push button release for the cover is broken off, and I would like to know the part number. Any ideas here are welcome. Thanks.

April 7, 2026 at 10:49 am #314451Well ….post a picture of the whole motor here as a start. Of course cowlings might have been swapped and all that…..but maybe not and maybe a member might happen to own the same motor and can get the model number for you.
If there are serial number to year/model charts for McCulloch I have never seen one.

April 7, 2026 at 4:24 pm #314505Well….it says “Scott”. I think I remember reading that McCulloch phased out the name “Scott” around 1964. Motors produced after that were labeled simply “McCulloch”. so….a clue perhaps? Your motor was 1964 or earlier. Now all’s left is to determine exactly what year and model.

It’s a 1960 model and there is at least one parts manual for sale currently on e-bay. Maybe someone here has a copy that they can get to you for free???

I don’t think he’s a member here but you could probably contact him through Facebook. Maybe he’d be willing to sell you the part? His motor is salt-water seized so…..
April 9, 2026 at 5:19 am #314649I did my best to track down a way to contact him but I couldn’t seem to bring up his post. Obviously you did! Oh well.
