Been at it again since 7am.
      Couldn’t sleep for thinking.
Gotta make this quick. Gotta work for some $.
Took it apart again. Noticed a few less than tight (snug, but not tight) nuts. Oil leaking from cylinder/crank gasket. Put it back together sans lower bronze. Re gapped plugs to .025. They were .030 plus!
Made sure all nits were tight tight.
Reminded myself that 5 o’clock is not 6 o’clock (spark advance).
      Fired on first pull!!
So I reinstalled the bronze part, lower unit, and it ran. Dry.
Turned it around so it was in the water and it ran again.
Made a mess with oily water going every where.
      So what was it?
Un- regulated air, less than tight tight fasteners?
      Or the spark plug gap?
Or something else I did unbeknownst to my simple self?
      Thanks for all the input!
      It helped.
1937 Evinrude Fisherman 4.4 (4.7??) hp back from oblivion.
      And looking kinda cute too.

What’s the condition of the flywheel magnets? Prewar magnets were made of iron and not Alnico as the postwar magnets were and thus they can lose their magnetic charge over time causing a weak or no spark situation, such as you have, after everything else checks out.
