      oh that’s an interesting idea. My issue is that the extension pipe is too long by several inches. I could probably cut it shorter and use the rubber splice like you mention.

        The water tube extension should fit properly if it is indeed and OEM piece. Perhaps the existing tube needs to be cleaned up a bit with some emery cloth…I don’t know if I would “chance” any alternative tube extending ideas…

          That was my first thought too, that a little emory cloth on the outside of the old one and the inside of the new one might do the trick. They should overlap a good four inches, which feels like a lot, but I’ll make it work. It’s interesting that the kit includes a full size drive shaft but not the full size water tube.

            I’m “guessing” this is because you probably have to pull the powerhead to replace the water tube…
