Hey guys I just bought this small prop engine. Don’t see any markings on it. Google searches leave me empty handed. Can you guys shed any light on this subject?

Can you post photos of the carburetor / intake and the side with the cylinder(s)? If I had to guess, it looks like a homemade motor, using a Mercury powerhead. But the tower castings seem to match up well with the block and the intake casting is quite unique.

          Single cylinder? Air cooled?

It is 2 cycle – single cyl with tillitson carb. Adjustable timing. Timing plate has a handle on it.

Hopefully just an optical illusion, but one side of the
prop looks to be a foot longer than the other!

Looks like a Jacobson Lawn Mower gas tank.

Under all the silver is like an olive dab green color over the complete unit.

that olive drab is zinc chromate primer.

That primer must be pretty heavy duty. Common on older engines?

Looks like a Lawn Boy engine to me, and I believe the gas tank is from a Jacobsen mower.
