Dunno but I have seen some Champions with Bendix mags. Funny too; but on the Champion models, the coils don’t seem to be cracked……..

        Long live American manufacturing!

          Years Old post;  I know.

So Louis;  did you ever determine the application for the K2A-215  Mag?

I am working on compiling my own application chart for the Scintilla magnetos….as I have had no luck finding anything “out there”…..

So far I have listings for Mercury, Chris Craft, Oliver, Champion.  If any of you can help contribute…..I would appreciate it.

Bendix Aviation was heavily involved in aviation and military technology during the 1930s-60s, They did have some non aviation consumer goods activity such as the prewar Bendix Eclipse air cooled outboard and postwar

type K Flywheel magnetos furnished to various small engine and outboard makers,  My folks had a Reo reel type lawnmower with a Bendix magneto,

Note: K1  refers to a single sylinder magneto and K2 refers to a two cylinder magneot,

Also Note: There are 2 versions of coil and 2 part #s       The early coils are lean and fit the early K1 magmeto plate Later coils are FAT and fit later magneto plates ,but, are a TIGHT fid in early magneto plates,

My understanding is the early coils did not produce enough voltage SO later coils were given more windings and magneto plates were modified to accept chubby coil,

The application for the magneto is sstill unknownd to me,

            Louis
