Went to a Car Show / Swap Meet / Flea Market today, and a Model K Oliver 16 hp
and a MS-39 Johnson, sausage tank followed me home.

The Oliver just says Model K, Serial 204571
The only "brown" ones I see photos of are 1959, but they say they are K5 models.
      What year would mine be?

The sausage tank Johnson is froze up, broke tiller, etc. I always wanted one,
but maybe in a little better condition……. it’s a good start though!
The front of the gas tank isn’t supported by anything. What’s missing?

That Oliver looks a very nice little motor Buccaneer.
I have never personally seen one down here in NZ, but I do remember seeing
the odd photo of one in our local boating magazine back in the early 1960s…..
have never seen that model Johnson here either.

At the Great Lakes meet at the DOSSIN Maritime Museum today a club member? I will have to get his name, had a very nice
Reproduction casting of the rear cover for this motor that he is making. I held both parts in my hand and the only difference
That I could tell was the weight, cast verses fiberglass. I will try to get more info for you. Doug Penn also sells New Repo
              Covers for this motor also.

The gentleman making the very nice reproduction covers is.

Nice finds at the swap meet Tom. I was there today also. After spending 5 hours there I still didn’t see everything. Ended up getting a seized Lockwood Ace (minus the muffler and prop) for $8 and three Alumacraft oars.

Thanks for the info. Don’t know if this one will ever being a runner,
seeing how it’s froze tight, but perhaps worthy of finding a
rear cover to use it as a "display" motor. As noted on other threads,
those compound curve tank decals could cause personal trauma!

Chad, I was at the swap by 7:15, left by 8:30 with my two motors
and $10 left in my wallet, lol.
I didn’t see the Lockwood, but did leave you a nice 2.5 hp Flambeau
on the hill. I debated whether to buy it or the Oliver.
Not sure why the Oliver won out!

I saw that Flambeau. Not really my cup of tea, but you don’t see them very often up here. There was a really nice "Martin 40" carrying case in the red building still.
