What’s a good compression test # for a 1940 Johnson 2.5 hp ?

My 1940 HA-15 Johnson 2.5 hp tested a 60# on both cylinders  in  a compression test.  I would think that is pretty good but I don’t have any info that says otherwise.  Any suggestions?

Sounds reasonable for an old low compression outboard.  Oftentimes compression gages are inaccurate as well.

I have a 9.5 turtle that runs fine at 65 psi   PSI are very subjective .. different meters different rseults…. and  if the engine run well after 86 years I would not be to concerned.

compression never really matters as long as the engine is getting intake compression and the motor is running, although it might not idle very well if it has super low compression.

That motor runs and  idles best with 70 to 75 psi.
