      Hello,
I am hoping to learn which Evinrude factory color is correct for the 1954-55 dashboard start plate. 1951-53 Lakeland Blue may be correct. Also, I assume that 1952-55 Sea Horse Green is correct for the 1954-55 Johnson start plate, is that correct? Thank you in advance.

      Thanks,
      Joe

If you are talking about the dash board plate, they are chromed.

Thank You very much Garry and R.C. for your replies! In rereading my question, I now think that it certainly lacks detail. Yes, the 1954-55 dashboard electric start plates, both Evinrude and Johnson, are chromed brass. but they also have large etched portions which are painted, the Evinrude in a blue, and the Johnson in a green. Actually, there is also a small portion painted red, and for which I would also like to learn of which color red is correct for. I am pretty confident of the 1952-55 Johnson Sea Horse Green for the green painted portion of the 1954-55 Johnson dashboard electric start plate, but far less so for which Evinrude Blue is correct for use with the 1954-55 Evinrude dashboard electric start plate. As I mention before, I think that 1951-53 Evinrude Lakeland Blue appears, looking at a computer screen, to be closer than 1953-54 Evinrude Polychromatic Blue does, but it truly might be neither of them. The 1954-55 Evinrude (electric start dashboard) start plate that I have is in very nice condition, but growing-up in a family boat dealership which was a Mercury dealer for more than 50 years unfortunately leaves we weak sometimes with OMC products details on some occasions. I also have another thread about (3) used propellers, and in the same situation, the limited vintage factory Evinrude and Johmson price books available to me do not show the part or casting numbers that two of them have, but skip over these part numbers as if they were not utilized, or were too long ago superseded to another part number in the very distant past.

              Thank You Again!
              Joe

P.S. R.C., we have not met, but we both have a very long-time mutual friend here in Atlanta, being Steve L., as he has spoke of you on a few occasions. I have known Steve for 40+ years.
