Winch handle for 1965 Gator trailer

Hello all,
My wife and I recently bought a 1965 Thompson Sea Coaster on a 1965 Gator trailer. Unfortunately, it’s missing the winch handle. We can probably make one, but we’re wondering if anybody happens to have one they’d be willing to sell, or could point us in the right direction to find one. Attached are a couple of photographs.

You can go on the interweb and type in “ universal boat winch handle” and pick one of the many that are for sale.  I believe that the end that attaches to the winch is pretty standard.

If you want an original handle, that may take some time finding.

Gator trailer handle is unique, universal won’t work.

Here is a better picture of what I think he’s looking for. This one was missing the grip.

The one pictured has the hub with two dogs.  Most of what you will find these days won’t have that hub, they will just have a “D” shaped hole .  I’m afraid It will be a long search or a machine shop job.

I know it may not be original to the trailer but it may be a lot cheaper in the long run to replace the winch.  Don’t know how original you want to keep it.  Just a thought.
