First attempt to start this Wisconsin, or a RBM as far as that goes.
This is the one that was missing the magneto, and I made a timer
hooked up to battery ignition for it.
I cranked on it for about 15 minutes before I got the camera out.
Was already “wore out” by that time, lol.
It made some smoke, fired a few times, and ripped the flywheel
knob out of my had a couple of times.
I played with the timing, fuel mixture, etc.
Not sure what else to do, except brace up the transom
on my test barrel !
Found out the water pump works though…… it actually was pumping
water while I was hand cranking!
Any ideas?
Thanks.

in my shoulder blade and can only turn my head one way now, lol.
I made some braces this afternoon for the test barrel to “sturdy it up”.Prepare to be boarded!
April 24, 2019 at 10:09 pm #174337My shoulder was hurting just watching you spin it over!! At least nice to see you got enough of a break in the weather to get outside again.

April 25, 2019 at 11:41 am #174359Tubs, thanks for your thoughts. Regarding fuel, I thought about maybe
not enough, maybe too much. A couple of times I let the plug fire away
a few seconds while the piston was at TDC, thinking it might get
rid of excess fuel. I “think” my buzz coil is okay, but not 100% sure.
It ran my Gray “hit and miss” a few years ago, lol.
I hurt too much today to even lift the Wisconsin in the test barrel,
and the stand it’s on isn’t adequate enough for test starting.
I’ve been putting off going to the doctor to see what’s wrong
with my shoulders, cuz I don’t want to know……. but
may have to give in, as it’s affecting my “fun time”!Prepare to be boarded!

That one looks very similar to mine, except
mine was originally magneto. Not sure I could
put an original timer on mine or not. Probably
more rare than finding a magneto that would work.Does yours start easy?
Hopefully before summer is over I’ll have a video of
mine running, lol.

April 27, 2019 at 8:46 am #174420Buzz Box that I was attempting to start the Wisconsin with.
May test it out soon on my Gray hit and miss engine to confirm
the set up works okay.Ooops, I see the “add image” box vanished. 🙁
