Hi all, have a 5 HP Elto that I just brought back to life. Starts and runs, but one cylinder gets extremely hot. Other side fine.Took apart and checked all water passages in the head, and the water tube with compressed air,and they are clear.
When I rebuilt I put in new rings. Could that be causing the problem? Compression is great with strong bounce. Any ideas?

        Hi Bob,

My son is restoring the same engine. Where did you find the new rings?

        Best wishes,

        Jim K.

Jim,its been a while. I believe I got them from Otto Gas Engine Works. They have every size imaginable.
Another place to try is Dan Gano at Ganotech. Great guy to deal with.
          Good Luck
