The subject motor I’m working on has "color" issues.
Not sure what all parts are original to the motor,
but the transom mount looks like original factory Johnson "Green".
The rest of the motor has multiple layers of silver and a little
      blue here and there!
I would "guess" that the whole motor was originally silver?????
What’s the earliest Johnson used "green" on their motors?
      Thanks!

about the Johnson KD-15 models,….they were painted green from 1946

Thanks Kees. My 1940 DT-10 must have a later transom
mount, but it looks like it fits the motor well, so I’ll
just paint it all silver and call it "good"!
