There’s a water ram tube on the cavitation plate on the DT-10
I’m working on. It wasn’t hooked up to anything, nor do I see
where it could have hooked up, as the water pump discharge
is all "internal" up to the power head. The
piston pump appears in good shape.
The ram scoop / tube looks like it’s factory made.
Were these sold as accessories and how could it have
      been hooked up?

The way the tube is angled, that would not be a ram, but would create suction if anything. I doubt that is factory. Most likely someone’s idea for a bailer

I was thinking "ram" thinking the prop would force
water up the tube. The prop is very close to it.

Might be someone own vacuum/suction bailer design
            similar to this.

                Push a rubber tube on it – believe me, It’s a boat bailer . . . 😉

I have a ’39 L38 with drilled holes on the plate and had zero idea what they were for. This answers that question. Anyone know where I could get a copy of a shop manual for an L38? Thanks.

Holes could be for a trolling plate
