      Having trouble getting the water pump seal out. Will heat help or hurt? (All metal)

        Yes John those can be a SOB!   Hopefully you have the drive shaft out.  What I did on the last couple, I  took an  old screwdriver blade and sharpened it a little an went around the seal and pie cut it in several places.  You need to collapse it just a little to loosen it up.   I WOULD NOT recommend using heat.  Patience and persistence and you will get’er’done!
